Trip description

This tour is a successful combination for discovering the most beautiful landscapes of the Kingdom: a captivating blend of colors and an original journey that immerses you in the authentic life of southern Morocco.

The southern region is inhabited by the Berbers, who mostly adopt a nomadic lifestyle, attracting tourists from all over the world. Visitors come to this region to escape routine and enjoy camel rides, the calm of the desert, and the magical sunsets and sunrises.

In the heart of the Berber country, the Draa Valley is a series of oases and palm groves nestled along a magnificent river, between the Anti-Atlas mountains and a vast desert that transitions from rocky landscapes to sand dunes.

From Ouarzazate to Zagora, the road first crosses the Jebel Tifemine plateau, almost desert-like, then continues through winding canyons up to the Tizi n’Tinifift pass.

Departure from Marrakech in the morning. From the first kilometers of the journey, you will enjoy the stunning views of the High Atlas Mountains and cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, located at an altitude of 2,260 meters. A stop will be made to visit the Kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This beautiful fortified village, built on the mountain slopes, is one of the finest sites in the Kingdom. It is a remarkable architectural masterpiece, featuring earthen walls, stepped dwellings, and fortified ramparts. Many famous films have been shot here, including Lawrence of Arabia,Gladiator, The Mummy, and Babel. Upon arrival in Ouarzazate, for cinema enthusiasts, a visit to the impressive Atlas Film Studios can be arranged. The journey continues with a visit to the Kasbah of Taourirt, a magnificent cultural heritage site with a maze of rooms, narrow alleys, and crenelated walls. Dinner and overnight stay in Ouarzazate.

We leave in the direction of the village of Foum Zguid, crossing the Anti-Atlas mountains, where the landscape is semi-desert and the mountains have very distinct shapes. We pass through the Sirwa mountains and the village of Taznakhte, a well-known Berber town famous for its handmade Berber carpets. We continue on to Foum Zguid and then to Tata, a small town located in the middle of the Sahara, which serves as a starting point for tourists who take excursions in this region. Dinner and overnight stay in Tata.

At the beginning of our journey, we cross small Kasbah villages and continue along the route through white sand landscapes towards Akka, an oasis known for its red houses and welcoming inhabitants, located on one of the ancient caravan routes. We then continue through the Kerdous Pass to Tiznit, one of the oldest cities in southern Morocco. Founded in 1881 by Sultan Hassan I, Tiznit is famous for its silver jewelry craftsmanship and is one of the most appreciated tourist destinations in southern Morocco.
Tata - Akka - Bouzakarne - Tiznit

Departure to discover the Tafraout rock region, the Ameln Valley, and the Ait Mansour Valley. The journey continues towards Taroudant, the former capital of the Souss region and one of the most typical cities in Morocco. Touring the city walls allows you to explore the old ramparts, followed by visits to the souks and a discovery of Berber pottery. This city offers more than a complete change of scenery: it is famous for its jewelry souk and its craftsmanship in copper, leather, and carved stone. Dinner and overnight stay in Taroudant.
Tiznit - Tafraout - Agadir - Taroudant

Breakfast, followed by a visit of Taroudant, also known as the “Little Marrakech.” We step back in time while exploring this charming city with its perfectly preserved red walls and magnificent ramparts. We then continue our journey back to Marrakech.
